FMF Rider Taylor Roberts Wins Mesquite Worcs!

Race report from Taylor Roberts winner of the Round 10 of the Pro WORCS Series:

The final race of the WORCS series was held this last weekend in Mesquite, Nv, and it turned out to be an eventful one indeed. The track was super sandy and with no rain it was quite dry too. The WORCS crew did a great job of watering as much as they could but a good start would still be critical with portions of the track being really dusty.

I really wanted to do well at this race because it was the last one of the season and I really felt like I could do well at this track. Once the gate dropped on Sunday afternoon I was ready to show everyone what I could do. I was second in the holeshot just behind Chris Johnson and was right on him going into the off-road. Not too far into the off-road Chris made a mistake and fell over I was able to get by him and he got back up behind me. From there I set a fast pace that I could hold for two hours.

When I came back onto the moto track I had a five second lead and I gradually stretched it out over the course of the race. I led every lap of the race and finished with a 55 second lead over Bobby Garrison in second. This was my first win in the Pro class and when I crossed that finish line I was ecstatic!

Overall I am very pleased with my first year as a Pro. I got three podiums and I ended up 4th in the series, which is the number I will run next year. I plan to carry this momentum into the first round at Speedworld in January.

I would like to thank all of my sponsors for helping me out, and I would like to give a big shout out to Bob Bell who created and managed the Northland Motorsports and Precision Concepts team all year.

See you at the races,
Taylor Robert
